Organic Lawnmix® Welsh Topsoil is our original tried and tested, award winning quality Welsh topsoil. As a natural sandy loam it is ideal for laying turf on or seeding grass seed. We do not recommend using Lawnmix® for over-seeding a lawn, due to the particle size; please check out our instead.
This virgin, peat free, Welsh topsoil is sourced only from Greenfield sites (NOT recycled from skips like many others online) then left to sit fallow for a number of years to ensure maximum nutrition and fertility. We then screen it to about 14mm, so we leave stones of just under an inch down in there - just to make sure that the soil stays nice and free draining.
25kg and the perfect option if you want a small quantity or if you have access issues and will need to carry through your house or over any walls etc.

How much do I need?
Topsoil coverage depends a lot on what you're using it for — top-dressing a lawn needs a very thin layer; filling a raised bed needs a deep one. Figures below are based on x5 bags:
Lawn top-dressing (20mm depth) — covers approx. 5m²
Border or bed fill (100mm depth) — covers approx. 1m²
New lawn base (150mm depth) — covers approx. 0.7m²
Raised bed fill (250–300mm depth) — covers approx. 0.4m²
We recommend adding 10–15% extra to allow for settling.
